inspired by

ok… so, i have one poem that wasn’t exactly God-related when I wrote it. but i can see how it could be. but i really like it. It is actually written in the same form of Emily Dickinson. So, here it goes.

I dwell in the Possibility-
Rather than simple Reality-
The heartbeat strains-
With heartfelt Pains-
I can no longer linger Here-
Within these Chambers of endless Fear-
Inside these damp, dark, Walls of Doubt-
I cling to hope-This-for without-
This dream I know no more-
Security like an unlocked door-
These window Panes with irritating dust-
This dream-this Hope-this Love-I must-
Cling to-forever-until Love I’ve lost.
For without Hope-Love is Lost.

basically, it says that I am a dreamer, that sometimes I get caught in doubt and fear of what I do not know, and that I have to hold onto my dreams, hopes, and love. I cannot keep on fearing loss, especially in love. For if you continually stay in fear and doubt, you will never truly be open to anything, Love included. Cling to things of light and foresake things of darkness. For without hope, faith, etc., the future of all things good is lost.

well gals and guys… I must admit that I haven’t been writing as much as I wish I could. But as the end of this past semester was drawing near, as the rain had been falling, I had felt divine inspiration to write these two pieces. The first is a poem, written in the style of one of my favourite modern poets Bradley Hathaway (thebradley.net or myspace.com/bradleyhathaway). check him out definitely. and the other is more of a song. and i will explain when i get there. comments/criticism/etc. welcome.

“Love Like Rain”

It’s like the rain
It pours down, all around me
It’s cleansing
Like a lavish shower after a long days work
It’s warm
Like an oversized fleece blanket
It heals
As no esteemed physician could
It flows
As a river would from the highest peak, seeping into the lowest cracks of the earth
It is peaceful
Much like a quiet, undisturbed moment in comforting serenity
It speaks
Seeping through pages of loud red and black letters
It calms
As the sea did when it heard Peace be still
It moves
Spreading out through the deep call in us you place
It promises
A solemn oath you keep and surely are fulfilling
It’s Your love that keeps our hearts quenched in satisfaction

the next one is more of a song… and… I truly believe it’s God-inspired because it’s a *cringe* country song… yup… the tune in my head is 100% pure old-time-y country. And if you truly knew me, you would know I probably wouldn’t dish out my own country song if it was 100% by me. I am not a fan of the country genre (as in, “My dog got shot, my wife left me, so i’m sittin’ here singing this song and drinkin’ my beer” type of song). So, yes. Here it goes.

“Renew”

“Glorious”

It never seems to make sense

“Down the Road”

The road to glory, surely, the way
Follow carefully, do not stray
For the road is narrow
The heart is fragile
The flesh is weak
But the spirit’s strong

Keep on traveling
Though your heart’s unravelling
He will see you through
To welcome you, dear child of-
God’s plan, follow it
Keep strong in the Spirit
Don’t give in
With God you’ll will
Down the road

Battles get so weary
Your life, it feels so grey
You lie awake at night
Just to drag on through the day
But don’t you see in this cold
There’s One that you can hold
Hold His hand, till the very end

You’re one day closer
One moment nearer
One single step, on this road
Jesus is waiting
Don’t keep Him waiting
He’s holding out His hand.

“Filling Joy”

For now I stand
In this desperate hour
I need your peace
Your loving power

I can sense it now

A joy which fills the void
It wipes the guilty stains
My tears, my fears, my pain

Sweet Jesus draw near
Hear your little child
She lingers for you
Though her world’s gone wild
She prays for peace
In a world that’s turn
Tell her joy comes in the morning

Oh God, fill this place
A house of prayer
That wants for Your voice
Speak to your people
In this world of sin
Show them, in the end,
the righteous win

“Let It Be”

Merciful Jesus, I linger here
Stuck in a world that’s full of fear
Though sin’s in this place
I know your grace cleanses me

Let your love fall down on me
Please let it be shown

Sweet Jesus I pray

Though prayers be unanswered
We trust that You’ve heard
You have Your plans

and this last one is about what is to come…. the day when Jesus will come back for His bride!!!

“Beginning of the End”

Look, can ou see what has been done?
It is the end and He has won
It’s so beautiful

Now we are standing
At the edge of eternity
The book has been opened
Look…

You’re love has poured
Upon the world
From the cross, it flowed
The blood that shed
For you and I

For now we know
The time has come
This is the beginning of the end
